Our Visit

Bolton Abbey and Museum of the moon in Priory Church BD23 6AL

Dog friendly (apart from inside the church)

It took us 10 minutes to walk to the church from Bolton Abbey carpark

It didn’t feel overly busy at all, plenty of space for everyone to take their pictures. The boys loved running underneath and playing

You can stay upto an hour (we stayed around 30 inside) it’s really stunning to look at

It’s a very scenic and beautiful place, with the river close by (a sandy beach across the bridge where you can go in with your wellies)
Theres an ice cream van by the bridge

Plenty of space to explore and walk

After that we went to the pumpkin trail

Once you have paid at Bolton Abbey car park you can then transfer to Riverside car park FREE, which is near the pumpkin trail

Lots of picnic benches if you have brought your own lunch

It was quite a busy car park, so it took us around 15 minutes to walk from the car to the café (which is the start of the pumpkin Trail) as we were so far back. It is a lovely walk though. as you are right by the river

We didn’t complete the full trail, as we the kids were shattered, but they had a fab day and would go again

Lots of woodland to run around in, which is just what ours love to do
