Our Visit

Blackpool Zoo, FY3 8PP

Last visit July 2023

We have been members in the past, so we’ve had many a trip at Blackpool Zoo

£3 per person over 1 for the return train, which takes you from the farm, past the wolves and wallabies, reindeers and back

£3 for 10 minutes on the bouncy castle and £5 for 5 minutes on the trampoline with a harness

Lots of variety of food and drinks, with the main cafe open, food by the farm and also by the elephants – the food is quite expensive, so we take a picnic. The boys got a cornetto each, which was £5.50 for two, even the mini milks were £1.95 each!

The boys love seeing the Lorakeets – It’s £1 for the nectar to hand feed them, which has always been a lovely experience. We were a bit disappointed, as the amount of nectar you get in the pot was reduced alot since we last visited, so we ended up buying them several pots, as they were upset how fast it was gone (I would say 10 seconds, literally a drop in the bottom of each pot)

There’s so much to see and do, and the beauty of it is, if like me, you have two young children, (we don’t use a pram) they both walked all the way around without it being a struggle. The tiger enclosure, lion enclosure and penguin enclosures had all been given a revamp and they were fantastic. More space for the animals, better viewing areas, we were really impressed

The Dino area is great and a must see. There’s also the sandpit to dig up Dino bones, which ours enjoy going in

Lemur walk is great to get up close and personal. There’s so much variety of animals to see as you make your way around. The sea lion and bird shows were on today as well, so lots of things to see and do

Lots of seating, picnic benches around. It’s wheelchair friendly throughout. If your children are sensitive to noise/space, there’s lots of areas which are quieter and peaceful if needed
