Our Visit

Keep an eye out for Cockfield’s farm events – They are brilliant, we visit most of their events because of it

What we like about Cockfield’s is that there are no hidden extra’s for things like the carousel ride and tractor. They are FREE and included with your admission. Their is a huge list of activities as you arrive, so you can see what’s running and the timings. We join in pretty much everything, including reptile and animal handling, a turn on the carousel and then a play on the parks.

You can spend all day here easily. You can bring a picnic if you want, but there is a large indoor cafe, next to the build a bear area. The food is delicious! We recommend the pizzas/garlic pizza bread/ kids meals/chicken burgers, all of it. They have also made a small indoor soft play area which the boys enjoyed.

They have a new interactive role play area, which has a chicken egg area, where the kids can get a basket and collect, you can spray shaving foam on the sheep and wipe it off, the cow has calves you can pull out, you can brush the pretend animals and there’s plenty space for several children to play at once

For anyone with sensory needs, there are large area’s and space to separate yourself if you need some time to de-stimulate. We usually get there as they open, so if your child struggles with waiting and overcrowding, it may be helpful to go in as they open. Access wise, they have wheelchair access throughout, lots of indoor and outdoor places to visit. You can go for a walk around the duck pond and see the birds, play in the sandpit, on the jumping pillows, the park if you prefer to have a non structured trip out. If your child likes to know about the animals, the staff are always about answering questions. They were telling us all about lambing and how they support the mother sheep and lambs when they are born.

Previous trips:

We  also went to the Easter event and they really go the extra mile, with the characters, props, shows, things that the kids can take home with them for keep sakes

Keep an eye out for their Christmas Event – Last year they did offer a pay in 3 scheme, where you can pay a deposit of 30%!

Lots of different deals, so keep checking their Facebook page

The Easter event was brilliant! It was non stop with different activities! All the way around as you complete activities, you collect stickers for you Easter Eggsplorer passport! We love anything like this, it’s great keep sakes and so interactive. There has been SO MUCH time and effort gone into making it such a fantastic Easter event. There’s photo opportunities everywhere, as you can see from our pictures. It was brilliant!

The Easter egg hunt was so much fun! The kids (and parents) were all ready behind the rope, we did the countdown and it was carnage. The kids were loving it! They collect 4 actual eggs, hand it in to the chickens to receive a chocolate egg. There were some other prizes around on the hunt, the boys found a slime alien

The show was great, very interactive – They had the kids up and dancing
Cuddle corner was open throughout the day, with rabbits, chicks and ducks
The animal barn had a list of reptiles and animals you can hold (all listed on their activity schedule with times). We held the albino hedgehog, which was a first for the boys! There were also bathing the tortoise, meet the lizards, the naked rats, bugs and snake handling

The potting shed had farmer Lauren helping the boys plant their own carrot which they can take home to watch grow

The park was great for our boys /There’s a large park with swings, slides, climbing frames, a tractor you can climb in, jumping pillows and a large sand pit. They spent a good few hours playing and enjoying all the outdoor provision. The tunnels were also a hit

Goat racing was great and you could place a free bet! And can I just say farmer Mark could be an Olympic runner after that sprint! He was so fast

Two ice cream shops – our eldest ordered the candy tub
Cafes serving a huge variety of meals, including hot and cold drinks and meals, children’s meals. Lots of indoor and outdoor table space to purchase food or have your own picnic
They had the best time and stayed for around 5 hours – it flew by because we were having so much fun

They were running around on an Easter egg hunt, got a chocolate rabbit, watched the show, went on a tractor ride, played in the sand area, went to the cuddle corner to hold a baby chick and duck, stroke the rabbits, went on the carousel, watched the goat race, headed to the reptile corner and held a hedgehog, fed the goats, planted a carrot, went to the park, bounced on the jumping pillows, ran around the field and played in the tunnels and then grabbed some ice cream!
