The boys really enjoy a trip to Knowsley Safari

There are two different parts to a Knowsley trip. The first is the drive-through Safari, which always takes us at least an hour, (this time 90 minutes) because we love watching all the animals.

Their favourite was driving through the monkey enclosure! There is an option to drive at the side if you don’t want to drive through. Within 10 seconds we had one of the monkeys jumping on the front bonnet, but its so much fun. We went at feeding time, so they were all by the roadside, with the little babies on their backs eating away. If you are worried about your car, we have seen them pulling windscreen wipers off and other parts, so it can happen and they aren’t retrieved.

The safari is very scenic and relaxing, as you can go at your own pace. There’s the lions, wolves, deers, camels, rhinos, moose and much more to see on your Safari.

After the safari, you can park up and see the rest of the zoo. They have the tiger trail, where we could see the tigers clearly and had a walk around their large enclosure. They have giraffes,
The sea lions are adorable and the boys really enjoyed the 30 minute show, where they get a few of the sealions in and educate you on them, whilst demonstrating their skills. The bird of prey area is good, with bald eagles and vultures, so you can walk around there as well.

They have rides onsite. Our 7 year old could go on everything & 3 year old at 1 m tall could go on everything bar 2 rides. You can either buy tokens at £1 (some rides were 3 tokens each), however we went for the unlimited rides wristbands at £12 per child with an adult free, so it was much better value if you plan on staying for a while.
