Our Visit

It is residents parking only in the village. We still take our pram here to walk into the village as it takes around 15 minutes

As you can see from the pictures, this is somewhere we have been many a time, and in all different seasons!

The boys love hunting for the fairy doors which are hidden on the tree trunks, from the car park, throughout the village and around the streams

There’s so much wildlife to see. We have been fortunate to even see deers on several occasions. We always seem to spot the wild rabbits, usually on the hill to the right of the pond

There’s plenty pheasants about on the walk down to the village. We have even spotted a great spotted woodpecker by the stream

The mandarin duck visits for a few months every year which is always a favourite of ours
The ruins of Wycoller hall are great to look at and go inside
Free toilets open everytime we have been. It’s in between the ruins and the pond
There’s lots of streams and routes to explore, so bring your wellies if you want to go in. You can walk as little or as far as you want once there

There’s plenty of seating to relax and have a picnic on

Most years  we collect frogspawn from the pond, bring them back home, watch metamorphosis do it’s magic and transform them into tiny frogs before our very eyes

We have a tank, a filter and everything they need, so once they are on the blood worms and are hopping about, we release them in a beautiful spot by the stream
