Woodland painting

CREATIVITY POST🌈
🍁There’s nothing more the boys love, than getting wet and muddy whilst exploring with nature 🌳Our boys learn and develop through play and experiences 🍃so we always encourage trips out by the stream, looking for wildlife in the woods and treasure hunts 🌈
All you need for this trip is:
🦶Wellies
🥪A picnic – jam butties are a favourite in this house!
🎨Paints
🔖 Canvas
🍂Leaves
🌟Glue
🌈For this trip, we headed to Rowley Lake, Burnley. Free car park, several different entrances and lots of free parking – pram friendley – could walk around in 30 minutes if you didn’t stop, however takes us about 2 hours because we go to the stream and into the woodlands 🦢
🪨First stop of this trip, we went in the stream. We used a fishing rod to catch leaves which we were throwing in and watching the currant take it. We also collected some rocks to take home to paint 🖌
🧺After our picnic, we walked around the lake and found a beautiful spot on the benches, where we made our duck canvases 🦆 we painted their hands blue, thumbs green for the head and then added yellow for the beak 🐤
🌳We went into the woods to collect leaves to glue on to the top, and also used some to press onto the canvas, to leave a gorgeous leaf print 🍁
🐟Lots to see here, often spotting the Cormorants, heron, at times the mandarin ducks and frogs, lots of geese and ducks, squirrels 🐿
